Richard Landfermann specialises in trademark and competition law as well as copyright law.
He represents and advises his clients in their negotiation of copyright and trademark license agreements of all kind and any and all further issues in connection with such agreements. His specific areas of expertise are litigation in the field of Intellectual Property, trademark registrations at the German Trademark and Patent Office, OHIM and WIPO as well as opposition proceedings and infringement procedures at the responsible institutions. He supervises together with colleagues from his international network also worldwide trademark registrations. His practise contains further advice in seizure proceedings at the German customs regarding counterfeit products and product piracy as well as conducting intellectual property rights searches and investigations.
Inter alia he advises advertising agencies, musicians, authors, artists, music and art publishers, producers, but at the same time several small and medium sized business companies, mainly in the entertainment industry.
Following law studies at the Universities of Bonn and Hamburg, he took his doctorate at the Christian-Albrecht-University of Kiel with Prof. Schack on the subject “Mobile ringtones in relation to copyright and trademark law (V&R unipress, Göttingen 2006)”.
Richard Landfermann is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
He has joined LICHTE Rechtsanwälte in 2007 and has been a partner since 2012.
